Head of Business Development – Infrastructure
Job Description
Hillhouse Morgan (HhM) specialises in communicating complex things clearly. They are a bespoke work winning consultancy that provides bid strategy and specialist bid leadership, technical, commercial and programme management support to businesses that want to win, transform and retain high-value contracts.
They are now looking for a Head of Business Development to join their ambitious and growing consultancy. This is a critical leadership role in shaping the future of the business and driving growth in the infrastructure sector.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
– Proven experience in business development, particularly in the infrastructure, rail, or highways sectors.
– A deep understanding of procurement and project delivery in complex markets.
– A talent for building lasting relationships with senior stakeholders.
– A strategic mindset with a track record of identifying new opportunities and driving growth.
– Exceptional communication skills to articulate compelling propositions.
Desirable qualifications:
– Extensive experience working with Tier 1/2 contractors or major infrastructure clients.
– Familiarity with bidding processes
– Familiarity with Sales Platforms: Hubspot, Scoro, LinkedIn
About the Role
As the Head of Business Development, you’ll lead HhM’s efforts to expand its presence and secure new opportunities within the infrastructure sector.
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll:
– Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve growth targets.
– Identify and cultivate new client relationships while nurturing existing partnerships.
– Work closely with internal teams to align HhM’s service offerings with market needs.
– Represent HhM in high-level engagements, including pitches and negotiations.
– Provide insights on market trends and competitor positioning to refine strategies.
Internally, you will:
– Drive innovation in how HhM approaches business development.
– Play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and culture of HhM.

Logistics
This is a full-time leadership position requiring approximately 40 hours per week. During key project pursuits, additional hours may be required, but you’ll always be supported.
