Technical Subject Matter Expert of the Year
This award recognises a Subject Matter Expert who has made significant contributions to the success of bid and proposal efforts through their deep knowledge, expertise, and collaboration.
Judging criteria:
The judging criteria for this award encompasses:
- Expertise contribution: Demonstrated depth of knowledge and expertise in their field which significantly enhanced the quality and competitiveness of proposals
- Collaboration: Ability to effectively collaborate with proposal teams, providing clear, concise and relevant information that is easily integrated into proposals
- Impact on success: Direct contributions to successful proposal outcomes with measurable results or positive client feedback attributed to the SME’s input
- Innovation: Introduction of innovative ideas or approaches within their area of expertise that differentiated the proposal and contributed to a competitive advantage
- Communication skills: Ability to convey complex technical information in an accessible and compelling way for non-expert stakeholders, including clients
Suggested evidence to be submitted for consideration:
- Expertise contribution: Examples of proposals (redacted if required) where the nominee's technical expertise significantly enhanced proposal quality and competitiveness and/or evidence of the nominee's expertise being a key differentiator in the proposal process
- Collaboration: Examples of effective collaboration with proposal teams, including how the nominee's input was integrated into the final proposal
- Impact on success: Measurable results or examples of proposals that were successful due to the nominee’s technical input (including any positive client feedback directly attributed to the nominee's contributions)
- Innovation: Examples of innovative ideas or approaches introduced by the nominee that differentiated the proposal and/or evidence showing how the nominee's innovations led to successful outcomes
- Communication skills: Examples of how the nominee conveyed complex technical information in an accessible manner, including any instances where the nominee's communication skills played a key role in winning the bid
