Job Description

Are you an experienced bid professional ready to shape and lead a growing bid function? We are seeking a Bid Team Manager to drive high quality, compliant, and compelling bids that support our clients continued growth across the UK.

This is a hands-on Bid Manager position where you will lead the bid team while personally managing high value, complex submissions. Bid Team Manager Key Responsibilities:
– Lead & Develop the Bid Team – Provide clear leadership, coaching, and development to create a collaborative, high performing bid function.
– Own the Bid Process – Manage the full lifecycle of qualified bids-from planning and content development to governance, submission, and close out.
– Ensure Quality, Compliance & Strategy – Oversee the creation of compelling, customer focused proposals that clearly articulate the winning strategy.
– Governance & Reporting – Maintain accurate bid tracking, ensure governance milestones are met, and provide visibility of opportunity status.
– Process Improvement – Continually refine bid processes, tools, and standards to drive quality, efficiency, and auditability.
– Cross Functional Collaboration – Work closely with internal teams and subject matter experts to secure timely, high-quality input for all submissions.

Bid Team Manager Skills & Qualifications:
– Circa 5+ years’ experience in bid, proposal, or project management, ideally in public sector or infrastructure-led environments.
– Experience managing people or leading a team.
– Strong organisational, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
– Practical knowledge of APMP best practice or APMP certification is desirable.
– Ability to establish scalable processes in a high growth environment.
