Nigel has been called a proposal pioneer in Australia for his work in shaping the professional bidding landscape in the region. He has three decades of proposal consulting experience and has trained thousands of people. Nigel runs Australia’s largest specialist bid consultancy – BidWrite – and is a strong advocate for development of the profession.
A leading consultant in the proposal management profession in Australia, Nigel has developed a significant international reputation, presenting at seven annual world proposal management conferences since 2008.
Supported with qualifications in engineering, commerce and marketing, Nigel’s strengths include bid strategy development, bid management, bid planning and bid writing. He is also a firm believer in ongoing professional learning, this seeing him take a lead role in the development and delivery of BidWrite’s training offerings.
In 2008 he founded the Australian/NZ chapter of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) and has served on the chapter board every year since. Chapter Chair from 2012 to 2015 and the current Certification Chair, he also served a 3-year term on the international APMP Board of Directors (2011-2013), the first Australian to be appointed to such a role. Nigel was the first Australian to achieve the APMP’s highest level of professional certification (CPP APMP) and in 2015 was made a Fellow of the APMP for his outstanding contribution to the profession. And In 2020, Nigel’s contributions were further recognised by a Distinguished Alumnus award from Curtin University, Western Australia.
