Matthijs Huiskamp is the Founder & CEO of Altura, the leading AI-powered bid management platform helping companies win complex tenders and RFPs. The idea for Altura was born during a consulting project on innovation with one of the Netherlands’ largest engineering firms, where Matthijs discovered that bid processes were severely overlooked and riddled with inefficiency. That insight sparked a deep two-year research journey into everything related to RFPs and tenders, which revealed demand for innovative tech solutions to give bid teams the tools they needed. Three out of four teams were unhappy with their win rates, and the large admin burden prevented them from addressing the strategic opportunities to improve. Matthijs recognised that bid management data iss a goldmine being left unused, buried in spreadsheets and CRM dashboards.
Founded in 2021, Altura has since grown rapidly across Europe, raising €8M in Series A funding led by Octopus Ventures and expanding into the UK and Germany. The platform now supports major brands including Bidfood, EY, and Ramudden, using AI and autonomous agents to automate workflows throughout the bid lifecycle.
