Profile


This Bid Manager and Solution / Strategy Facilitator is an effective leader with a high win rate across 100+ Defence bids over 25 years, ranging from £10m to £12bn in value. They are equally comfortable as the Bid Lead or as the trusted lieutenant to the in-house Bid Manager / Director. Having led teams of up to 200 active participants, supporting colleagues throughout their career journey from mid-management to Board level. Particularly adept at tailoring the approach of the bid process to suit the circumstance and believes that sharing knowledge is key to creating successful, cohesive bids.

Key Achievements


Delivered 100+ very large, complex bid submissions valued from £10m to £12bn (£500m average). Win rate in excess of 75%.
Designed and implemented the bid process for a £12bn+ programme, including the recruitment and indoctrination of the in-house bid team to deliver the ongoing, multi-year bid cycle.
Devised and implemented a novel adaption of bid process to enable joint customer / bidder solution development, which later became the industry standard.

Experience


Over 25 years' experience of leading and advising winning bid teams, both virtual and co-located, including partners, suppliers and sub-contractors. Adapts to all types of teams, from constrained budgets to multi-million-pound programmes, such as RAF Typhoon Partnered Support.
Corporate intent and governance is always adhered to as they are accustomed to working at main board / CEO level in FTSE 100 companies. Has a varied and diverse experience enabling them to motivate and, if required, develop the bid team to strengthen the organisation's business winning capability.
